Growth & Development

Every child grows and develops at their own pace. Regular pediatric visits let Dr. Preeti Chadha track height, weight, development and behaviour over time — and take a closer look early if something does not seem to be progressing as expected.

What we assess

  • Height, weight and BMI (growth tracking)
  • Developmental milestones
  • Speech and language development
  • Behaviour and learning concerns
  • Puberty and growth in the teenage years
  • When further evaluation may be needed
  • Guidance and reassurance for parents

Questions parents often ask

How do I know if my child is growing normally?

Growth is judged over time against age- and sex-appropriate charts. A steady pattern matters more than any single measurement, and it is the overall picture of your child’s health that counts.

My child is not talking as much as other children — should I worry?

Children learn to talk at different speeds, but delays, or losing words or skills they already had, deserve an assessment rather than waiting. The earlier a concern is looked at, the easier it is to help.

What developmental milestones should I track?

Milestones cover movement, language, social interaction and problem-solving. You do not need to turn childhood into a checklist — regular pediatric check-ups pick up anything that needs closer attention.

My child seems shorter than other children — does that mean a problem?

Not necessarily. Height depends on family patterns, nutrition and the timing of puberty. Having your child measured and plotted over time shows whether growth is on track.
